Kids & Boredom

What’s wrong with just letting them be bored?
Kids aren’t bored enough these days. When I were a lad, my brothers and I would go out on our bikes at 8am, come back at some point for a drink and some food, then go back out, before quitting at 6pm.
One of us (usually my youngest brother) was always the bad guy and my other brother and I were Poncherello and Jon. CHiPS wasn’t gay in those days.
If we got tired of biking we’d head off in to the woods to climb some trees, build a den, slide down the banks on bits of cardboard, make a bow & arrow, collect crab apples (still not sure why), make berry throwers out of pegs and some steel that we’d find wrapped around piles of bricks.
Things can’t have changed that much since the late 70s.
