Red Bull Air Race

Well, what a kerfuffle. An hour to get to M4J18, then another FIVE hours to get to Longleat. Four hours to get home. It was a right mess.
None of the marshalls had any clue about what was going on, blindly filtering drivers into their grassy, muddy parking areas; conflicting reports from different gates; nto a peep from a Red Bull spokesperson until almost 3pm, and even then she was useless.
It’s obvious that Red Bull over-sold and under-estimated the event. Why on Earth didn’t they get someone with a bit intelligence on the project. Anyone with half a brain would have spotted that the roads into Longleat can’t cope with 100,000 spectators – they’re country lanes, FFS.
Fortunately, Red Bull will be refunding all ticket holders the full cost of the ticket. That doesn’t cover the 10 hours I wasted away from work, or the petrol and wear & tear on the car.
Hopefully someone will have dragged the organising team in to a boardroom and is currently screwing them from behind over a desk.
